Meaning in Medicine
Finding Meaning in Medicine and Meaning Report are two offerings that UKIM residency program provides based on data that physicians flourish when they are afforded the opportunity to share about joys and challenges of medicine with their colleagues who understand their lived experience. Alternating monthly, these sessions are based on Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen's work "The Healer's Art" and are either hosted at an attending's home or during the regular morning report time to allow for residents to connect with one another over a meal.

Narrative Medicine
The Narrative Medicine group is a resident led initiative to help promote reflection and wellness among residents and IM faculty. Narrative medicine uses stories, art, dance, or other creative media to share moments in medicine. Residents can meet at these monthly meetings to share stories and review pieces. Opportunities for narrative medicine submissions to journals are shared and pieces reviewed.

Social Chairs
Social Chairs foster community within our residency by organizing social events and opportunities for connection throughout the year. Their efforts support resident wellness and strengthen our program’s sense of community. They also manage the program’s social media accounts, highlighting resident life and celebrating our community. Please contact them with suggestions or if you are interested in contributing to the program’s social media.
